Questions fréquemment posées

What are safety straps for a squat rack?
Safety straps are a barbell safety system that catches the bar during missed reps. They’re a softer, quieter alternative to steel safety pins and help protect your barbell and rack from damage.

Are safety straps better than safety pins or spotter arms?
For many lifters, yes. Straps reduce noise, protect barbell knurling, and allow a natural bar path. They also let you angle the straps so the bar rolls away from you—something steel safeties can’t do.

Will these safety straps fit my rack?
Our straps are designed for metric 3x3 racks with 5/8" holes. If your rack matches these dimensions, the system will fit perfectly. If you're unsure, measure your upright and hole size before ordering.

How much weight can the safety straps hold?
Each strap is rated for 10,000 lb, giving the pair a combined rating of 20,000 lb—far more than any barbell lift you’ll perform.

Are safety straps safe for bench press?
Absolutely. Many athletes prefer them for bench because they allow you to angle the straps, helping the bar roll forward and away from your neck in the event of a failed rep.

Do safety straps protect my barbell finish?
Yes. Nylon is softer than steel, so it won’t chip Cerakote, chrome, or bare steel bars. It also helps preserve the knurling.

How do I install and adjust the straps?
Slide the brackets into your rack’s uprights, choose your height, and lock them in with the pin. You can adjust both sides independently, no tools needed.

Can I use safety straps for squats inside the rack?
Yes. The straps support heavy squats and let you set the perfect height so you can safely push your limits without fear of getting pinned.

Are safety straps worth it for a home gym?
If you train alone, lift heavy, or want to reduce noise and protect your barbell, safety straps are one of the best upgrades you can add to your rack.
